Geneva, Switzerland, 12 January 2018 – Cybersecurity threats are outpacing the ability to overcome them unless all stakeholders begin to cooperate. The increasingly networked, digitized, and connected world is vulnerable to cyber-threats that can only be addressed by the combined capabilities of the public and private sectors, according to a new report by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Cyber Resilience: Playbook for Public-Private Collaboration is a tool to facilitate capacity-building, policies and processes necessary to support collaboration, safeguard cyberspace and strengthen cyber-resilience.

“We need to recognize cybersecurity as a public good and move beyond the polarizing rhetoric of the current security debate. Only through collective action can we hope to meet the global challenge of cybersecurity,” said Daniel Dobrygowski, Project Lead for Cyber Resilience at the World Economic Forum.

Working collaboratively in the cybersecurity space is difficult. Cyber-threats are complex, dynamic and increasingly personal as technology saturates our economy and society. Addressing these threats requires dialogue across industries and competencies, and on subjects from the technical to the ethical. Currently, dialogue between leaders in the public and private sectors is often off-target and at cross purposes. Policy implementation also varies by national context: every country has its own unique capabilities, vulnerabilities and priorities.

“There is no simple, elegant policy solution or silver bullet here. The iterative progress and feedback loop used in software development should be a model for improving policy,” said Walter Bohmayr, Global Leader of Cybersecurity at BCG.

The Cyber Resilience: Playbook for Public-Private Collaboration report helps leaders develop a baseline understanding of the key issues and pros and cons of different policy positions on cybersecurity. The policy models discussed in detail include Zero-Days, Vulnerability Liability, Botnet Disruption, Encryption, and 10 others.

In connecting norms and values to policy, the report encourages all actors to move past absolute and rigid positions towards more nuanced discussions aimed at solving key challenges, and presents the implications of policy choices on five key values: security, privacy, economic value, accountability and fairness. Cyber-resilience will continue to be a top-of-mind topic for decision-makers, and the Forum intends to continue leading future efforts in this space through its new Global Centre for Cybersecurity, which will be presented at the Annual Meeting in Davos.

NEW YORK, NY – (Marketwired) – Brock Capital (“Brock”) today announced the formation of a joint venture between Eletson Holdings Inc. (“Eletson”) and funds managed by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities (“Blackstone”) to create Eletson Gas, a $700 million liquefied petroleum gas (“LPG”) shipping company. As part of the agreement, Eletson will contribute its existing fleet of five medium-size gas carriers, and Blackstone will provide equity capital to finance the growth of the company through the construction of new-build vessels as well as through the acquisition of existing vessels. Operating and technical management of the Eletson Gas fleet will be provided by Eletson.

Also, Eletson Gas announced the signing of newbuilding contracts for eight vessels — five 12,000 cbm ethylene-capable semi refrigerated (“semi ref”) vessels with Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and three 22,000 cbm ethylene-capable semi ref vessels with China’s Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering as well as the acquisition of a 22,000 cbm second hand semi ref vessel. Additionally, Eletson Gas holds options for two additional 22,000 cbm vessels at Sinopacific. All eight new-build vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2015 and early 2016.

The transaction was part of a combined offering that included the sale of 30 million GM shares by the U.S. Treasury. The value of the VEBA’s portion of the sale was around $688 million. The Treasury Dept. sold GM shares that the government purchased in 2009 as part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program’s bailout of the U.S. auto sector. The June 6 offering coincided with GM’s return listing on the S&P 500, after leaving the index in 2009 when the company declared bankruptcy. Tsakos Energy Navigation Limited Announces Pricing of Its Public Offering of Common Shares
ATHENS, GREECE, Apr 19, 2012 (Marketwire) — Tsakos Energy Navigation Limited (the “Company”) (NYSE: TNP), a leading provider of international seaborne energy transportation services for crude oil, petroleum products and LNG, announced today that its offering of 10,000,000 common shares was priced at $6.50 per share, representing a 3.4% discount from the closing price on April 18, 2012. Entities affiliated with the Tsakos Holdings Foundation, which is the Company’s largest shareholder, have agreed to purchase two million of the common shares being sold in the offering. The gross proceeds from the offering are expected to be approximately $65,000,000.

The Company has also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 1,500,000 additional common shares.

The Company plans to use the net proceeds of the offering to fund growth initiatives, including LNG, working capital and other general corporate purposes.

NEW YORK, NY, September 21, 2011 — On September 19, 2011, the US Department of Labor announced that it will re-propose its controversial regulation on the definition of an ERISA plan fiduciary. The original proposal generated hundreds of comments and a Congressional hearing. The new proposal will concentrate on the regulation’saffectontheIRAindustry. It will also clarify that fiduciary advice is limited to individualized advice directed to specific parties and will address concerns about, among other things, the impact of the regulation on routine appraisals and arm’s length transactions, like swap transactions. The DOL will also issue exemptions relating to the impact of the new regulation on the current fee practices of brokers and advisers and will clarify the continued applicability of exemptions that allow brokers to receive commissions in connection with mutual funds, stocks and insurance products.

The re-proposed regulation is expected to be issued in early 2012.

While the proposed regulation is not expected to create fiduciary status for many types of plan service providers, persons that do not today consider themselves fiduciaries may be included in the definition. This may lead to situations where an independent fiduciary can provide service to a plan to avoid a conflict of interest on the part of a provider that becomes a fiduciary under the new rule.

NEW YORK, NY, July 21, 2011 — Fiat SpA today announced the completion of its purchase of the 6% fully diluted ownership interest in Chrysler Group LLC held by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The consideration for such interest was $500 million. The Treasury Department also assigned to Fiat its rights under the Equity Recapture Agreement entered into between the Treasury Department and the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, a voluntary employee benefits association (the “VEBA”). The consideration for such rights was $75 million, $15 million of which was paid to Canada in accordance with arrangements between the Treasury Department and Canada.
